400EX v.s. Predator
I know you guys get tired of reading such questions as these, but please help me......
I am ever so stuck on what quad to get, i think ive made up my mind that i want a 4-stroke.
I am doing strictly trail riding in the mountains of Arkansas.
Does the 400 have enough power?
Does the pred have too much power?
Which would be recommended?

400EX v.s. Predator
I too love honda and am eagerly awaiting their next release. However, if I were buying now I would definitely get the predator. It has lots of power and handles awesome. It comes wide and has great tires. Seems like the best bang for the buck. The 400 isn't the slouch that a lot of people seem to say, but it doesn't have the beans of the newer bikes.

400EX v.s. Predator
Brand new, I would buy the Z400 twins or the Predator before the 400ex and that is coming from the Grandfather of modded 400's. But if you've got $6000 burning a hole in your pocket there is NOTHING better than a 400ex built [4 stroke] or a 250r built [2 stroke]. Remember, you can buy these bikes used at a very good price, around $3000 or less. That provides you alot of aftermarket mods for the other $3000. The rest will always depend on rider skill. So my thinking is you can't beat the Honda bikes because the cost of admission is so low that it lets you build a winning racer for the cost of the other's stock machines. This will change in the future as the other bikes depreciate but Honda will come out with something new so it will most likely be a mute point. -RT

400EX v.s. Predator
If you can get the 400EX at a great deal because the drop in sales. Then I'd consider the 400EX. BUT if you have to pay a comparable amount for the Predator. (within a few hundred) Then I'd go with the Predator. The dry weight of the Predator is 40 lbs. more than the 400 EX but the Predator also has 102 more cc's. The Predator has the liquid cooling compared to the 400EX with air cooling. Maxxis Razr tires on the Pred. Don't make me tell you the speed comparison out of ATVS! Ok. I'll tell you. Both quads STOCK. Pred.: 0-30mph 3.21 sec., 400EX: 0-30mph 4.11sec., Pred.: 0-45mph 6.98 sec., 400EX: 0-45mph 9.50 sec., Pred.: 20-40mph 3.20 sec., 400EX: 20-40mph 4.47 sec. The 400EX would have to be a great deal or a new 450EX from the Honda factory with reverse.
