Would it be wise to buy a 400 with a 416 kit and other mods? What should i look for to see if i am getting jibbed? Or would i just be bettter off not buying this quad?

I don't know the exact answer to that question but I have seen fully modded 400ex s with suspension and the whole 9 yards going for as little as $5500 dollars. If there are enough none people to vouch for the guy and he can proove with reciepts that a reputable engine shop did the work and it runs well I don't think it would be a bad idea. Hell some guys build them and maintain them to sell after racing only one season on them.

 

Today I rode4 a modded and bored '99 400ex, for sale where I live for $3500.It had a higher rev limiter, bored to 420, 39 mm carb, works shox. douglas rims, aluminum skid plates, FMF pipe, twist throttle, hand warmers!?!, and K/N. But it has about 5K miles, rough plastic, and home wired controls. Pretty strong but ugly. I said I might go $3000, no deal.

 

Leave the guy your number he might call back when he's more desperate. Then you could take the 500 bucks and get everything wired right and buy new plastic.
