250r axle in a 300ex??

Will a 250r axle fit on a 300ex? I know the sprocket is the same. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure but I highly doubt it. Otherwise why would they make them different for aftermarket axles?

Somebody had to have tried putting a 250r axle in a 300ex/250x at one time or another??

It will not work.

The 250r bearing carrier is wider than the X, EX. Therefore the races on the axle (where the bearings ride) are too far apart.
