Scrambler 500 is a woman's bike. My neighbor owns one. Gee, lets give it gas with one hand and use both brakes with the other. Sounds like my 4 year olds plastic quad from Toys r us. P.s. floorboards are for 1920's cars and tractors. Also, my 400ex and myself weigh less than your pregnant rollerskate. Sell it and buy a real american quad. The mighty 400ex.

By the way, we put a 14 tooth front on the 300ex, then we put a 14 tooth rear sprocket on it. After we hit the nitrous, we got to 138.93. The problem with this speed is that the front fenders start to pull the front end off the ground and the quad wants to blow over like the top fuel dragsters. Thank God for leathers.

Put it to a rest.

Well... my bud just bought a 400EX. I agree it is a bitchin' quad, BUT it even made me more proud of my lil' 300EX.( Pipe, filter mods). The way the magazines described how the 400 just "blows" away the 300 made me feel bummed. Fortunately that just isn't the case. My 98 300ex CAN keep up with the 400. Yes the 400 accelerates quicker and does have a higher top speed, but not as much as the mags have you believing. In fact, in the twisty canyons of Salton Sea I flat out beat my friend on his 400. Yes I have holeshots up front/rear on wider offset rims and this make the 300 handle on-line with the 400 in those situations. The 400 pulls harder and feels so comfortable that it makes doing what I do on my 300 easier, but still I can keep up in the open areas; I just have to work harder at it. We ride like maniacs. My friend weighs 20lbs. more than me which also helps. I believe that it depends on the rider and their ability more than these two quads specs when it comes to "performance". My friend is a very experienced rider (10+ years). But when those technical or tight areas come in to play the smaller 300EX with a competent rider can be a winner and that's a fact!!. Ride hard, Ride safe

Some automobile speedometers are off plus or minus 5 mph off the showroom floor ... so cars make a GREAT judge of actual speed!

Glenn.

P.S. Had My Sportsman doing over 100 mph, but it was in the back ok my truck!

Nice try there Glenn, but who is going to believe that speedometers are wrong when they are brand new? that makes no sense. sorry man, but you are way off base on that one.

Well it's obvious that RangerSX is going to believe what he wants. It would be interesting to hear back from him after he picked up almost any car magazine and looked at a car tested to see the actual speed versus speedometer. This is an actual test they perform. It is amazing how almost every single car is off. This might allow him to see the truth. Then again, if he did that, he would have to carry that on his shoulders for many years.

RangerSX, I have some gold to sell you. It is exactly 16 oz. I compared it to a 1 pound bag of sugar, you wanna buy it??

Come on dude, at least think about what you are defending before you open you mouth. I call it "blind faith".

It has numbers on it, it must be right. It says it is an American Car, it must be 100% made in America.

Do you know anything about the effect of diameter and measured speed? You never addressed that concern I had before. Did you know that a tire with 40,000 miles on it can be smaller than a new tire of the same make? I wonder what that would do to a measured speed from the axle? I'll tell you what it will do, here is the answer.

SPEEDOMETERS ARE A GREAT METHOD TO ESTIMATE TOP SPEED ONLY!!

Thanks, I feel better. I will sit back in my chair and pray for a response from RangerSX. It brightens my day.

To all others, please accept my apology for wasting board space.

Nice try Ranger, but again your letting your mouth get ahead of your brain. I am a major collector of car mags and in most the actual (radar measured) vs. indicated(speedometer) is shown. Speedometer error is a documented fact even on brand new vehicles. So it turns out your reply was the dumb one. Mine was based on fact, yours on your assumptions.

Digital Dash, HA, good one Ranger!

Glenn.

apparently you guys are getting the wrong impression, the first point i was trying to get across is that a 300EX DOESNT go 46 mph stock, sorry but that is not even close, are you telling me that every single vehicle on the road has a unaccurate speedometer? pri not. uh cuz i have clocked my 250X beside many of cars and well they are all about reading 53-55 mph. sorry but the 300EX doesnt go 46mph.
