96 and 97 300ex

my friend is looking for a 300ex 96 or 97 model.what i was wondering what problems they might have had and what the top end on a stock 300ex is?

You'll top out at about 55 mph, depending on where you test the top speed. They are extremely reliable, one of the most reliable quads made!

If it is possible try and get a 97 because I think that they came with a dual rate rear spring. I am not sure of this though. It will give your friend a more plush ride.

Yeah, I think that it is the 1997 models and up.
