What is the best exhaust for a 250ex? I have been looking at the pro circiut, graydon proline, and big gun pipes. which is best of those 3? which is loudest?

just bought a yoshimura complete exhaust for mine it pretty loud when you rev it but you can hardly notice it when its idling. I notices a huge increase in top speed, but you may need valve adjustments afterwords.

Since the 250ex is a shaft-drive machine, you will only gain as much top speed as your rev-limiter will let you get up to. Once you hit a certain number of RPM's in your top gear, that is as fast as you'll ever be able to go.

That being said, any pipe will add horsepower and torque compared to the "puny" stock pipe on the 250ex. You will accellerate faster and have much better power in the mid-range. So...I'd recommend getting a full system for this bike (if you can afford it). I'd personally stay away from DG exhausts, but the rest of them are gonna do you just fine. Once you have more power, you can gain top speed by putting bigger rear tires on your quad, but the added extra weight of the bigger tires will rob some of that added power.

Adjusting your valves won't be necessary after adding a pipe. You will want to re-jet your carburator, and add a better flowing air filter. Your valves should be adjusted per the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, or if you can hear them, it's a good idea to get them adjusted.

I hope you're not getting a new pipe, just to make more noise... An aftermarket pipe will be louder than stock, but there's no need to get one based on sound-output alone.

The T4 at $325.00 for a full system is the way to go. NEVER use a K&N on a off road quad or bike they flow to much dirt to the motor!!

A K&N is fine for off-road use, just make sure to clean it often, and always run a pre-filter like the ones that outerwears makes. In a pinch you can even use an old pair of pantyhose as a pre-filter.

yoshimura makes probly one of the best systems but it also cost about $400 for the complete system. HMF makes the complete system for under $300. Pro Circuit also has a great pipe for low end tourque to help you reach your top speed alot faster.
