Honda Recon ES w/ ES probs...help
I was riding today and my wife came to a sudden stop while in 3rd gear, and the Recon stalled, and while it showed it was in 3rd gear (lit circle around it) 1st gear started lighting on and off, 3 times in a row then it would stop for a sec and do it again, over and over, I then manually put it in Neutral and started it, then put it in 3rd gear and 1st gear and no matter what gear I put it in the 1st gear would still blink 3 times, I turned the key off and on, nothing would work, I still have warranty and will take it in the morning, but if there is a fix I can do that someone knows about, I would appreciate the input. I will be going on vacation on April 4th and was concerned whether they can fix it by then, never taken one in before, any info on getting them to fix it on time or fixing it my self would help me out. Thanks in advance.

Asking politely works for me. If parts need to be ordered, it is possible to next day ship but you may have to pay the extra freight. About all you can do without a manual is check your connectors to make sure they are fully plugged in, and make sure your battery terminals are tight.

My recon did the same thing. It would not shift with the es and no matter what gear I put ut in manually the 1 gear light would blink.I followed all the wires that are for the electric shift and it ended up being a sensor located in front of the engine under a metal shield.something must have come up and hit the shield and bent it into the sensor breaking it.Only cost me 18.95 for the part.I believe there is also a fuse for the shift motor under the seat.Follow all the wires Im sure you will find something broke or disconnected.

my brothers did that to. We took it to the dealer and after about 2 1/2 weeks we got it back and they told us it was this sensor that screwed up on so many of them that they had to actually take them off of the machines on the assembly line. that is why it took so long
