2003 Rubicon Fuel Capacity/Miliage
#1
Last weekend I went on a long ride, I ended up getting 65 miles on the tank. I think it is a 3 gallon tank, correct?
Mostly trails, but alot of open roads too...
Not bad, IMO...
What have you other Con owners noticed as far a how far can ya get on a tank, before walking!

My very worst was at 32 miles had to switch to the reserve, deep snow and we only traveld about 12 miles had the trails been dry. When I filled the tank I got about 12 mpg. The best I have ever done was a real nice trail from Big Springs, Idaho into West Yellowstone. Round trip we traveled 62 miles and used only 2.1 gallons, 29.5 mpg. That was great, only time ever saw that kind of mileage. I usually go between 50-80 on a tank like nick 01 and do wish Honda had squeezed a 5 gallon tank in there some how, 3.6 gallons isn't enough for a long haul.

I don't have a RubiCON. But, I do have a ReCON and I've figured that I get over 40 miles per gallon. I average around 11 mph so I'm not pushing it alot. Honda seems to put smaller gas tanks on alot of their quads compared to other companies.

I agree, the smallish gas tank sucks, I want a five gallon tank. The rubi tank is 3.7 gallons and my friends AC 454 tank is 4.7 gallons and I can go farther on a tank of gas than him. I thought mine has bad millage sometimes but it's about 60 or less miles to a tank on his AC all of the time.
