will it go into neutral? if it doesnt, then i think i know the problem. it happend to me one day out on a frozen field. you can leave it in first gear, and then pull it backwards and the rear tires should engage the driveshaft and clutch again. its just one of those fluke things. I hope it helps, its what happened to my rancher.

Will it roll in nuetral? 4x4? If it doesnt roll in nuetral prob have brakes locked up. Rusted or something broke inside hubs. Just for grins make sure nobody(or you) tightend your parking up snug or adjusted wrong wing nut..

If you can roll it by hand and push it around fine, but the wheels won't turn, then you have a serious transmission problem. I would suggest taking it in to the dealer. It may only be the clutch adjustment, but it sounds like a more serious problem than that.

An unusual set of symptoms for a rancher. If I understand you correctly, the numbers on combo meter change as normal and I am ASSUMING you can hear the sound of shifting gears, but the machine won't move under engine power, but you can push it, even when in gear? Please correct me if I am wrong about those symptoms. When the shift arm fork breaks (the update you refer to), I have only seen them stick in either first, reverse or fifth. Sounds more like a clutch problem to me. You might inspect the clutch adjustment on the front engine cover, but it would have to have mysteriously tightened itself to create those symptoms. More likely your answer lies underneath the front engine cover. Let us know how you turn out.

When you say front engine cover..... can you define the exact location for me?

Sure dp. Put down a piece of cardboard, shut off your gas and plug or pinch the fuel cap vent line. Now lock your parking brake and have a friend help you lift the machine so it rests on the rear rack\tires. The part of the engine that sits highest is the front cover. To remove it you will have to unbolt the front diff and move it forward to remove the front driveshaft (it is spring loaded). Beyond this point you really gotta either know what your are doing or at least have a manual and some engine type mechanical knowledge. But by removing the front cover you can inspect pretty much all the applicable parts Your dealer tells you 250 to lay a hand on it? That's a pretty crappy way to put it since we don't even know for sure what is wrong yet, right? Also the tran linkeage is always suspect and could be the problem, in which case he could warranty it as the bulletin is still good. I'd maybe look for another dealer.
