Does a K & N air filter really help in increasing the horsepower. Is it really worth the money.
I own a 450 S and I want to put a K & N air filter on it, but I wonder about the performance. How does it handle the dust buildup.
Just some advise about the purchase would be great along with perfomance.

Ride hard......

Ihe k&n filter brings up horse power some it lets more cooler air flow and takes out the harm ful particles. You can buy a thing that goes over the filter. if u run dunes run your quad with out a cover.

Jughead, I'd be surprised if any filter would increase HP. What a decent filter WILL do however is allow the engine to breathe better, thus allowing it to deliver the HP it already has, and I guess that's what you really want any way. Opinions are pretty much evenly divided on K&N type gauze filters vs foam, but in dusty conditions a K&N doesn't filter well without an Outerwears over it. The other option of course, is a good foam filter such as the Pro flow, if it is available for your ride.

What's wrong with the stock filter? Mine (Honda Rancher) has a very nice foam cover over the air filter. Seems to work fine.

Lablover,

It will be a few more months before K&N makes a filter for our Ranchers.

I do not plan on modifying my quad until the 6 month warrenty has expires!

its not that the stock foam filter is bad its just the K&N makes your quad more powerfull and yes if you get one get an outerwear and keep them oiled
