I was wondering which quad was faster because both my friends have quads. The 250ex has a big gun full race system with K&N Airfilter and jet kit with Kenda bearclaws 22". and the 300ex is stock except for 20 inch dominators. thanx

 

I have a 250ex and it is not as fast as it looks. It is a begginer's quad. Mine is all stock, and I know the one u described is not. stock the 250ex would get killed by thebigger 300.

But, since the 250 is not stock the 250 mite have a chance. Personally, I would not spend money on the 250ex to modify it. It is kinda like tryin to make a pinto fast. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]

I hate to say it, the 250ex is rather slow, compared to the bigger quads out. Don't get me wrong, I love my 250 and have'nt had any problems once so ever. It is the perfect entry level sport quad. But I wish, now that i am more experienced, I had something faster.

 

Im the one with the 300ex. I wrote an earlier post about smaller tires and they said about 5 mph of top speed. That is why he is asking the quastion about who will win.

 

sounds like it depends on who is the better rider. my wifes 250ex isn't as slow as people think. but isn't all that fast

 

Yea I agree. The 250ex is'nt that slow, but it is'nt fast.

 

5 or 6mph difference with the 300EX being faster.

 

With such meaty tires on the 250, it will kill a lot of the power gain from the pipe. If I remember correctly, bear claws are a lot like spiders, and man do those slow down my cousin's 230 qs. if you swapped tires, it might be closer, but otherwise the 300ex should win fairly easily.

 

Yea but the kid with the 300ex could take the holeshot but then the 250ex will just go by him? wont he, bigger tires make u go faster at the top...

 

Yea, I still have stock tires on mine. I am not sure what the top speed would be.

 

top speed on a stock 250ex is 47mph.
