What are your predictions of the soon coming Magazine shootouts? If placed up against a Grizz, Magnum or(Sportsman), Quadmaster, and maybe even a Foreman 450.... what would be the results and why?

I do not want anyone to take this offensively buti feel honda makes the best atvs and they would not make the rubicon if it is not better than the competion. Just compare the awesome 300 fourtrax to the even better all new rancher. I also believe that the rubicon will out perform the grizz and polaris becaus of the hoadamatic automatic transmission that is not affected by water mud etc.

You can bet that Honda will up the ante. All of the other Big boys will scramble to make theres better.

I don't care what they say about, we all win by having manufacturers improving there quads.

I agree we all profit by the companys making the new additions to the atv's. Will the rubicon climb better, ride better, well we will just have to see...

Here is what I think will happen:

Quality of Ride: Polaris
Power/Engine:Yamaha
Ease of use: Polaris
4 wheel drive: Polaris
Egronomics: Honda
Tranny: Honda
Speed/Fun: Polaris and Yamaha
Brakes: Polaris, (except Dirt Wheels; who likes two brake levers.)
Comfort: Polaris
Durability: Honda
Price: Polaris and Yamaha

TOTAL Pts.
Polaris-6
Yamaha-3
Honda-3
Suzuki-0

Winner: Honda (just because... its a Honda)

Am I wrong? Please enlighten me...

I can't wait to read the test results on the new
Rubicon I'll bet that the boys at Honda are grinning from ear to ear.I am selling my wife's slightly used Recon to get her a Rancher ES 2X4
she said she would ride my new Rancher ES 4x4
and i could get a Rubicon if i wanted. What a Woman !! Now I know that she really does love me.

Mag500, first you should tell us what Polaris quad you are useing for your comparison. If its the sp500, the list price is the same-$6999.00. Also the Rubicon should have as much hp as the Polaris 500s, if not more. Now if you figure in the more efficient trans. on the Rubicon, it should be faster and more powerful than either of Polaris' 500s. Also it has more suspension travel than the polaris 500s on the front(6.7" vs 6.3)and I believe more than the Mag500 at the rear(6.7 vs 6.5). The Honda should also handle far better than either Polaris, given the fact that it will be much lighter(598lbs. vs 650+) ,have a lower center of gravity, and will have twin a-arm front suspension vs. the awful strut setup that Polaris uses. Which would win in a shoot out? I have no idea, there all good machines. By the way, I didn't mean to leave out Yamaha or the other brands, its just that I don't have much experience with them.
