I use a socket wrench, just make sure you get the correct socket head, its in Millimeters. Then just take off the 4 lug nuts and presto!

You will need a 17mm socket wrench. You supply the elbow grease.

HondaHolics, do you mean how to get the front wheels off of the ground or just "off". One is fairly self-explaining while the other could be a bit more diffifcult.
These ES machines don't have a "neutral" in between gears like the manual shifters do. It doesn't appear to be possible to hold the tranny in the "neutral" position between 1st and 2nd gears like you could on a 300FW or a Rancher with a footshift. For this reason the Rancher ES models are going to have a lot harder time getting the front wheels off of the ground.

the ES ranchers are EaSy to wheelie. they have plenty of power to do it. you just hafta time it right.

phalnx has a videa on his webpage of his rancher with 26" blackwaters doin a wheelie.

1. get moving in first gear.
2. when you upshift into second, have you but on the back rack and nail the throttle while pulling on the handlebars.
3. wear your helmet. you will probly flip backwards a couple time b-4 you find the balance point
good luck and b-safe
