Default question regarding cam?

Just put a web cam 450/451. in my 400 ex. Web Cam says to leave the 2 setting pins out. (one goes on each end of the stock cam, for centering and I think to prevent the cam bearings from walking around). Has anybody used this cam, and encountered this? My question is what's going to prevent the cam or bearings from walking around? Any info would be appreciated! PS. I tried to see if the pins would work with the Web Cam, but the cam is a little longer than stock, so they won't work.

That's the cam I have in mine and I left the pins in. All the Web cam is is a reground stock cam so I don't see why it would be longer. I did leave the decompression thingy on the cam gear off. Maybe that's what their talking about?

Default question regarding cam?

Thanks,
I tried to put the setting pins in and they would'nt go in, that's why it seems like the cam is longer.
How do you like the cam?

It works great. I also put in a 10:1 piston at the same time. That was three years ago. It still runs strong. I think you'll like it.
