Air is right, the best pipe will depend on the mods you are planning for your bike.

Well, I have a K&N filter with an Outerwears already. I also plan to increase the main jet size, but other than that, I will probably keep it stock. What should I get as far as exhaust systems go?

Big Gun with a quiet core spark arrestor. The best pipe for stock . I makes alot of torque.
What you are doing is basicall stock.

Get a Dirt Wheels and browse through it and start calling .Prices will vary. I purchased it through Factory team Racing.

Go to ctracing.coom and look at there pipe. it is a great pipe for a moded enge with the full race one and for stock one go with the mid range pipe. So far it has been a great pipe, and has no problems so far. Plus i had a DMC. It is a good pipe but you lose alot of bottom end. With the ct u don't and still have the top end too.

400ex, 450/451 web cam, CT pipe, CT REV BOX, VALVE SPRINGS, 401 over bore and a 10 to 1 compression piston, K&N, Dyno jet kit.

I have looked at the White Bros. E-Series, Big Gun, and CT Racing systems. I can't decide which one is the best. What are the upsides and downsides of these 3 systems? I would like more bottom to mid-range power more than mid-range to top-end power. Which would be the best for this? I also am going to keep my engine fairly stock, and don't want and ear drum busting exhaust system. Which would be the best one? Please help.

The one problem with this shootout is it compares a prototype Big Gun with production pipes. They are always looking at ways to improve the Big Gun.
Not just getting it close then moving on to another project. For a stock engine a Big Gun is a big improvement over stock. Most of the other exhaust systems make more high end HP though. I personally prefer the DMC which makes more HP than the shootouts "winner" the E series.

keep the stock pipe and go elsewhere for power mods. it is embarrassing that the pipes make so little difference on a four stroke. I will put money on mine in a race with a stock pipe, port matching, and a xr400 head gasket. Cost me $25.00 and I walked away from a stocker with a powercore IV2, but I had the airtools to grind on my head. I will get a cam soon and kill people like you guys. Then a 426 piston to top it all off. The factory pipe works too well for the massive increase in noise.
