GPS questions
#21
I have a Garmin 48. It's an older model GPS but it still works very well. One question I have is; how can I program a set of Lat. Longs. as a way point just by looking at a map. I know you can do it with a lot of GPSs but I don't know how. I don't even know if mine has the capability.
What I want to be able to do is, look at a map, pick a spot I want to go to, load the Lat. Longs. into the GPS as a way point, then hit "go to" and be able to go to that spot.
If someone knows how to do this on their GPS, could you tell me so I can try it on mine.

Hey Starky,
go to the Garman web page and search for the manual, its a free pdf download
click here a little over 1/2 way down the page you'll see it in the discontinued area

Coyotechaser,
I didn't took the time to read all the replies you received but I bought a legend 2-3 years ago and it was great but If I would be you or a new buyer I'd look at the Garmin Vista, same as the legend but you have bigger memories.
Also get a Topo map program for it with the metro guide.
Their topo program is awesome and you could get the update online with Garmin...
Good luck
Tony
