i have to say no, for no other reason than the fact that we have enough laws to protect us from ourselves.

sooner or later we have to start facing t he consequences of our actions. anyone old enough to need a hunting license should know that hunting is inherently dangerous. if i use a product in an unsafe manner and it blows up in my face, then its my fault. not the manufacturer or the guy down the street, just mine. and they shouldnt be penalized for it.

just my 2c.

By the way, three-wheelers are no more dangerous than ATVs or motorcycles. Its just that people who bought them were not educated on how to ride them. I've been riding 3-wheelers for ever and that is about the only thing I haven't been hurt on.
With everything there is a risk, expecially when it comes to sporting activities. If you learn to use your equipment correctly and wear the proper safety gear, you reduce the risk factor. Every time a product is banned because somebody was stupid, it takes away another part of our freedome.
How many people were killed last year on ladders. You don't see anyone trying to ban ladders do you.

Maddog,
I was mistaken. I thought you ment bringing up this topic was ignorant. You are correct. The idea of banning something because somebody got hurt or killed is "ignorant". If we take away everything that may harm us, we are all going to be living in plastic bubbles.

I feel that the most dangerous stand is a lock on. This is why
1 you have no platform when hanging them
2 usually no rail around the seat
3 tree steps are VERY DANGEROUS I know several who have been hurt on tree steps
I can sleep in my climbing stand, but I would never do that on a lockon. Some of the best sleep I have ever gotten has been in the woods.

No they should not be banned. My guess is any momentum towards this action would be pushed by granolas who believe they give an unfair advantage and do not want Bambi shot to begin with. Pushing it as a safety issue would be a well planned desquise.

If you didn't use a tree stand in the rain, then you may as well never use one in Oregon. I for one will use one in the rain, and always with the safety harness. And for the record I love using my climber.

No, they should just ban recreation and then be done with it.

There should be a law against more laws
