Its unbeleivable how these cats or wild animals are spreading. I hunt in Southern Illinois and up til about 6-7 years ago it was something just to see a bobcat. Now they are all over the place, and people are also seeing cougars and mountain lions....maybe even a small bear or two. And its not just stories either! They are being hit by cars. Just makes it more freakier walking out in the woods in the morning.

My guess is coyotes, a mountain lion packing 40lbs of meat is hard to believe. there are wolves around Duluth but not near Cloquet. I hunt 45 minutes north of Duluth and I'm hearing of less and less wolves. They wouldn't be going south

I don't know why you would say that there are wolves around Duluth, but not around Cloquet. Cloquet is no more than 25 miles from Duluth so I wouldn't doubt wolves being there. I also hunt 45 or so minutes north of Duluth and I heard a bunch of timberwolves during deer season this year. I am kinda curious where you hunt. Do you go up hwy 4 or hwy 53 because either way I am probably familiar with your hunting area?

I'm up on 53, but I was talking to my dad today and he said theres a possibility of them but not as frequent as north of Duluth. In the past 3 years I have been hearing less and less, my neighbor where I hunt, said they haven't seen any lately either. I just don't think they are moving south. Don't get me wrong, there most likely are wolves around there, but what are the chances, the bones would have been gone if they were wolves. My best educated guess is coyotes.
