Thats a whopper. I have heard divers that go to a local lake here in WV say there is catfish that large here. Its in Summersville Lake, in about 300 feet of water. I dont know if anyone has ever caught one. I would have to add another wall just to mount that one if I caught it.

I have heard told of giant catfish like that down here in the Tennessee river. The one time world record was caught out of the Tenn. river close to Wheeler dam. Dam inspectors say they see huge catfish like that. I thought that I was reading in an outdoors magazine, that magazine was going to fund a search for giant catfish to see if they really do exist, but I havnt been able to find anything else about it. I thought it was in Outdoor life of something like that. If anyone else knows what magazine it was let us know.

I hear rumors like that about the Grand Coulie dam also, giant Catfish, Giant Sturgeon etc etc
One rumor was a diver seen a giant catfish the size of a volkswagon beetle. Scared him to death now he won't go back down.
I would like to see one

Someone foul hooked a world record largemouth in California recently. Won't be an official record however due to the fact that it was snagged in the dorsal fin rather than in the mouth. Breaks the record set back in the 30s though I believe. You should be able to google "world record bass california" or "world record bass san diego" and pull something up if that is something you would be interested in reading about.
Whoever does break that record and plays his cards right stands to be a very wealthy man with gear endorsements and the like.
