Concealed carry handgun... any suggestions ???

I carry a kel-tech p11 which is a 9mm and very tiny to me, the only draw back is that it has a long trigger pull, but no saftey and internal hammer which is nice. I also carry a 1911 .45 sometimes that is a little harder to conceal but I have not had much problems doing it, I have carryed in 5 states and no problem yet with either. I like the .45 better because it is more comfortable to shoot but sometimes it is just to big.

Also a thing to consider would be how much ammo will it hold? Unlikely you'll ever need more than six in a normal situation. But, where are you going to be, and at what times. Generally I just keep the 14 round loaded to 10, 1 in the chamber (on the .45).
And two spare magazines, plus the .380 backup, 10 round mag loaded to 8 one in the chamber. Yep, a little excesive. When I'm not a work, it's usually just 1 mag in and 1 spare.
And also check your state to see what other states they have a mutual agreement with. Always good to know before you do any traveling.

I tend to carry the Ruger more than the Glock. I love both guns, but I have a set of Crimson Trace laser grips on the SP101 and it is a hoss of a gun.

Doneking, how do you like the 36? I have one that I keep in a Fobus holster when we ride. I also have a extended magizine(it adds 1). I like the size, just wish it held more rounds.

dont get me wrong, im not a hippy, or some kind of anti gun person..... but whats with this conceal and carry stuff lately??? they just past this up here in minnesota a while back.
my question is, why? why do you need a gun with you at all times? that just seems like a bad idea. how often will it be used in everyday life? it seems just as practical as carrying around something completely random. like carrying around a dozen eggs or something.
maybe im missing something. it just seems silly to me.

well... for me... I'm just as likely to need it to dispose of a skunk meandering up the driveway of our farm, or one of those beastly cotton tails that regularly strip the bark off my newly planted trees... but I do manage a small food ingredient manufacturing plant, & not all my guy's are what would be considered model citizens... all good guy's, but I had an incedent at the plant, recently, where a over zelous bill collector, who must have been watching too much "Dog the Bounty Hunter" on TV, pushed passed one of my crew leaders, & tried to chase down one of the guy's in one of the processing rooms... well the food industry has gotten lots tighter along with the homeland security thing... I nearly had to physically throw him out of the plant, & was about 2 steps away from needing that weapon, had I been carrying that day... so... yes, I'll likely never need it for any bad guy's worse than mister rabbit, but if "Dog" shows back up again, & is any more threatening than he was last time, he's likely to find himself looking at the new plant security system...

Mainly because it is completely pathetic to walk around in life with the way things are today and not be able to defend yourself and/or your family. Don't be offended by that statement - I mean no disrespect at all. The police are not gonna save you in most cases. They will respond - sure, but they won't be around the corner and next door when a bad situation arises. Bad guys don't follows the laws. That's why they are referred to as bad guys. They don't follow the rules. There is no time-out "lets wait for someone to come and defend me" when danger strikes.
As a society it is everyone's responsibility to look out for each other and preserve each others safety. The only problem with most people these days is that they have become accustomed to leave that to someone else. We see it everyday how people look the other way and don't want to get involved, but they watch the news and get angry about how the world is today. If we depend on the government and other agencies to "protect" us - it will ultimately end in us losing out. If you don't believe that refer back to watching the news.... The police and government can only do so much. They cannot fully guarantee our safety without us being actively involved.
In most peoples lives hopefully the need to have a gun at ready will not be needed. Make no mistakes about it though and don't kid yourselves, when your looking at the business end of a gun or knife, I'd bet you would like to be equally armed as well. It's all about choice. Sometimes that means not letting someone else with bad intentions limit or take those choices away from You.
I hope that I never have to use the gun that I carry daily. But when it comes to the safety of my family and myself, I will not hesitate to end someones ability to carry out their intentions when they make the wrong choice to harm me and mine.

Wow...I am truly sorry it seems "silly" to you for a law abiding citizen to be armed. I find it "silly" that more law abiding citizens DONT carry a concealed weapon. I dont carry my gun on my side when I go to Wally World. I dont carry my gun when I go to my sons baseball or football games. I DO HOWEVER HAVE IT IN MY TRUCK EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT!!!! I do carry it on my side when we go riding in the mountains. Oklahoma ranks at the top of meth labs, and we have alot of dope grown here. I am not going to startle a druggie and have him harm my family. There is no 911 in the woods or mountains.
we also have alot of meth heads in our area. but thats a whole different topic. maybe its the people that im exposed to thats screwing with my outlook on this issue. the people i encounter talking about this with, are well.....idiots. their the type of people that would carry it everwhere. someone cuts them off driving, out comes the gun. i dont think they would shoot, but they would use it to threaten people. i would actually carry one while riding in the deep woods. dont get me wrong, i would shoot bad guys to save my family, wouldnt even think twice about it.
