Fully automatic weapons
i have handled and shot a few full autos (my bro-in-law was LEO) and thought about getting an M16 or the like. but after careful thought, i realized if SHTF, i would grab my scout Rem 600 in .350 mag first. it gives me the warm fuzzies.
maybe this is just my way of saving the $10K or more a Styer Aug would cost me...

I call full auto the $7 thrill; the cost of emptying a full magazine in a $10k piece in seconds. Our local sportsman club has 'machine gun weekends' on Independence and Labor Days, where the public can rent a full auto piece under close supervision to fire at five junk autos trailered in for that purpose and other fixed targets. Those two weekends provide us with more revenue than annual membership fees and other fund raising events for the entire year.

That and if you want to play around you can learn to hold a rifle like an AK or AR the right way and with a little practice use the recoil and a light touch on the fore end to manipulate the trigger or “bump fire” the gun which will give you pretty much the same thing as full automatic fire. I've gotten good enough with my AK that not only can I dump an entire 30 round mag downrange at essentially fully automatic but I can do the same thing with a drum mag and empty the whole thing without trigger reset.
I'm not sure but I one time they made little spring that you could attach behind the trigger to help with getting the feel for bump firing. They were legal and were always in the back of gun mags. Don't really need them of you practice a bit. A sling helps too.
