Stihl MS360 chainsaw
#1
Does anyone know where I can find an online manual for this type of chainsaw. The chain came off today and I lost some parts in the grass and cant find everything I'm looking for. I'd like to see a manual so I know exactly what part(s) I need to buy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

ms360 Manual.
Order a Manual by mail. Free from Stihl.
What you need for your saw is a microfish. Best bet. GO to the Stihl dealer, he can order you the parts and you can repair it yourself. What I have found is the parts are all about the same price. Look on ebay also.

I have had the same issues with my Husky 357........oiling ports become blocked. Must be very vigilant to that happening. One thing I do is oil my chain copiously before I start my saw.....and then occasionally while cutting! Other than that my Husky devours wood!

I agree with the other guys. Your best bet is just to go to your local mom and pop Stihl shop. We have on near us and the old guy that runs it has fixed my chainsaw right there on the counter and didn't charge me a dime. I give them my business whenever I can.

i usually carry toothpicks with me to clean out little holes but most of time it doesnt work i just carry extra oil with me and do the same.[IMG][/IMG]</end quote></div>
If you're talking about the little hole/s on the tip of the bar you aren't doing any good for the chain by oiling it. That is for the tip only and if your oiler is working properly you don't need to bother with it. Most oil problems occur when people don' know to clean the oil groove and the oil hole in the BACK of the bar before reinstalling the bar. There's also a small screw on the bottom of the saw that adjusts how much oil is applied to the chain. Make sure that is turned up enough.
P.S. Read pages 40 and 41 of the manual listed above.

thats where i was talking about the back of saw and the ports on saw itself the shop told me it was probly the pump wasnt working but it must be or it wouldn't be coming out from around the side cover. but dealt with it for 6years know and carry alot of oil with me.

There is not only a little screw to adjust how much oil the pump put out to the bar but, there should be a large hole on top of the bar that aligns with a slot in the engine case the oil comes out of. As the oil gets puched into this slot the chain guides grab it and spin it around the bar.
If you are not using at least 1/2 a tank of oil with one tank of fuel your bar is wearing too much.
I would suggest taking a regular screwdriver and filing the end off so that it fits into the slot in the bar the chain guides ride in. Use it to remove any debris from that slot on the entire bar.
If after you remove that stuff it still is not spraying oil real good. After you clean it put the bar and chain back on and start the engine. If you rev up the engine it should fling oil off the chain. If it does not do this turn up the oiler screw to increase oil output.
Depending on how oild the saw is you could hace two little plates that fell off in the grass after removing the side cover OR if a c-ring clip came off you could have lost the c-ring and chain drive sprocket. These are CHEAP items. Probably no more than $5
