How far do some of you ride to get to your stands? This year will be the first time i've had an atv during hunting season and although I'll probably be walking 95% of the time to get to my stands, there may be a spot that's pretty far back where I may ride part of the way.

No tree stand hunting up here in AK....When I come back to Anchorage from my job on the North Slope oil field (2wks on/2wks off) Im going on a trip with the wife and another couple out of Eureaka where we go back in on wheelers over 50 miles one way. Takes about 7 hours to get back in depending on water levels. We do this every June or July and catch Grayling and count Caribou, bear and moose for a week. If I can figure out how to shrink my photos I'll put a few on if anyones interested.
Been up her all my 39 years but have been down to family in Michigan a few times during bow season and love climbing into a stand waiting for the white tail to come in.....No offense though, I wouldnt trade this place for nuttin'!

I used to walk to my stand and spook deer, now I ride to my stand and park close by,guess what? I kill more deer than ever.On our lease, we have a lot of atv's,and I think the deer get used to hearing them along with other vehicles. But when you walk, your a preditor, and the deer know it(Mountain Lion etc.)
