Default mule deer down!

Well i finally did it after 4 years of trying. I smoked a 5x5 mule deer last Friday(sept. 3rd) in wyoming. Ive been working in Billings Montana for the last 3 months and decided to try for another deer in Wyoming, and by another, I mean another try. Ive had my chances in the previous years. I either got greedy and wanted a bigger deer or I missed completely. Well this was different. Since i was working so close (120 miles) to the area that I normally have hunted in Wyoming I was able to take the weekends off and go scout the area(s). Well in my search,i have found four deer that would be more than satisfying for me. I wont go through the whole story but ill sum it up. I decided after hunting two and a half days in one particular area where I had seen two really nice bucks that I was gonna change it up for the evening hunt. Well I went to the other area and decided to go look over this hill, since I hadn't been over there yet, just to see. I walked along the edge of the field about half way and realized there wasn't much back there so I turned around and went back. While walking and NOT being quiet,i glanced over to the left just in time to catch a glimpse of a tail and antler. There stood 2 mule deer feeding to the right. I snuck up to about 40 yards pulled the range finder out just in time to catch his head peek out from behind the trees. Put the range finder on his head and at 42 yards, i was starting to shake. I pulled the bow back,he stepped in to the small shooting lane that i had,and WHACK!!!, The sound of a Spit fire broad head going through the rib cage. I thought to myself ,"give him some time to be sure". Well I couldnt wait more than 30 seconds so i walked over to where i shot him and looked for blood but found nothing. So I went about 10 more yards the direction he ran and there he was. He went 50 yards and fell over. I know this was kind of a long story but i was excited! When i figure out how to load pictures. i will. He measured 23" tall 22.5" wide and was still in velvet. To complete the story, he was one of the four I was after but didnt realize it till i got him in the truck. I even have pics. of him a week earlier standing about 500 yards out. What a hunt. thanks for reading.
