Ruger Compact Rifle?

I understand the .223 thing. 223's a dirt cheap to shoot, and they're fun as well. Ruger has been one of my favorite companies to deal with also. I was interested in putting a Hogue/Butler Creek bull barrel/synthetic kit on my 10/22, so I called them to ask what they thought of the setup. They recommended Butler Creek to me, and said that the Hogue stock was better. But then, I got the Banshee, and poured all my money into it. The 10/22 is still waiting with a 4x16 scope on it though

Alright!! When I purchased my Leupold mounts for the 10/22, one of the mount bolts that screw into the top of the action was too long, so the action would hang. I finally filed it down, and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I guess you never can tell about things like that though.. Even if they're made for a specific gun, or whatever it may be, sometimes things just dont fit

Hey lonestarbanshee, I also have a 10-22. Nice rifle. I had alittle work preformed on it, bull barrel, triggerjob. It has a Burris 4X12 scope on it. It shoots way better than I do. The service trained me as a smallarms repairman so I feel comfortable doing small jobs on guns. Funny, the Army considered a 4.2" motar (sp?)small arms!

Ones, yeah, that's kinda strange. My brother is in the Air Force, and to them, the cannon they put in the A-10 Warthog(48mm or something) is small.
How did you do your trigger? I was planning on filing my firing pin, but I wasn't sure. Does it help much? I had a reading on the ft.lbs that the trigger was, but I'm not sure anymore. Did it help alot? How do you like your bull barrel? I was looking at the Butler Creek fluted barrel. It looked really good.

a light stoning, and lots of gun slick. Worked the action and shot 100's of rounds before it cleaned up. Drilled and tapped a hole in the trigger for a overtravel stop. The bull barrel really helped with accuracy. I'm sure the factory one was pretty good! Its an easy gun to work on. I have seen many different barrels for the 10-22. Try a search on 10-22 or Ruger and see all the site that come up.

the cannon in the A-10 thunderbolt, warthog, tank-buster, or whatever you want to call it has a 30mm gatling gun in the nose. another thing about the military that perplexes me is that they name a gun something that it is definitely not--like an oxymoron. for example, the 6000 round per minute, electric powered, 7.62x51mm nato chambered machine gun that is made by general electric--more commonly known as the minigun. for those of you who have never heard of a minigun or saw one watch predator 1, terminator 2, or the matrix. if you want to buy one they are for sale on the internet for about $10,000-$20,000 ammo not included.

Well, I'd say it was a good morning. I passed up a 6-point, and saw 2 doe. When I was walking out of the house at 5:45, I thought to myself.... I should get my digital camera in case I see a deer.. Oh well, I won't see any... I could've touched the buck with the end of my rifle..
