Hey HuntFishAlaska. Hope your OK, even though the quad isn't. It's maybe a good thing the Eiger took the punishment instead of you. You might still be lying out there. I know a guy around here who was hauling fence posts on his quad helping build a game farm. Lots of off camber hills to go up, and it rolled on him. He didn't survive. It broke his neck.
On a lighter note, glad to hear you got to see that big brown again. And hopefully you can gather up the parts to get the Eiger back to new.
BUZZARDS how'd you end up rolling yours? Those off camber hills too? Hope you healed up OK.

Well I am 41. I think it hurts a little more now, or is it that I care more? My back hurts the most from hitting rocks, besides that, I will be ok . I dont know where to buy parts at tho. I cant get them from here. I have to have them shipped in to me. I think it will cost me somewhere around $500 to $600. I want all (new) parts. The wife told me I cant have new tires and rims now. That sucks . I am still riding the bike hunting tho but I am scared when it comes to hills. We dont have too much flat ground here. I am not going to quit hunting, so I guess I will have to get over it

I can relate to you guys' experiences. The first night I got my Honda about 3 years ago I took it up a hill in 3rd gear instead of 2nd, pooped out near the top and tried to grab 2nd, missed 2nd and grabbed for the brakes. The brakes grabbed ahold AFTER it started to roll backwards, flipped over me while kinda crunching me into a ball as it passed over. I fractured 2 vertebrae and pulled a rib loose from my sternum. Fortunately a friend was with me and shut off my engine since it was still running while upside down at the bottom of the hill. I had to ride it out of the woods like that which wasn't fun at all, and had excruciating pain for a few days. It also busted the front rack, rear fenders and choke switch and gave me a hill-aphobia for a LONG time. I still get very nervous when climbing hills, thus the reason for me putting the cycle up for sale yesterday so I can hopefully buy a Rancher 4x4.

Congrats on the black, Huntfish! Someday I'd love to go for bear and moose, but it'll be a long time before I can afford that, I'm afraid. Until then I guess I'll have to be happy with our pretty decent-sized whitetails here in Illinois.
Best of luck on your quest for that brownie.

Very nice Black HuntFishAlaska! Wish I could have been there. We leave for our hunt on Friday morning. The baits have been getting done in and replentished every week for a month now, so the group should see lots of Blacks. Hopefully there's some big Papa Bears hanging around. That 458 should be BAD MEDICINE for those big Browns. Last Fall I picked up one of Marlin's Guide guns in 45-70. Wished I could have got the 450 Marlin cal. but you can soup up the 45-70 to the same levels as the 450. It's pretty light and short, and has some factory muzzly porting. It is a punisher for the shooter. Hopefully it's as punishing on the other end too! My regular piece is a Sako 375 H&H. It seems to do the trick and proved to be a very good stopper on Moose last season. Actually, It's my calibre of choice. I use it for Deer too. It carries fairly well over distance, doesn't blow things up, and still has lots of Whomp when it gets there. And there's a pretty reasonable selection of bullet weights to choose from for reloading.
Well, better get the old PSE waxed up, make sure I got some arrows and stuff and I'm set to go. Congrats again on the Black and I'll let you know how our trip goes.
