I have a 1997 polaris sportsman 500, it runs good at idle but give it gas and it sputs and sputters and backfires anyone have an ideal, I changed the inline filter, it also has no power

Hey, welcome to the forums. It sounds like a carb. problem to me. I would also check the spark plug and air filter assembly. Try running without the air filter. If it runs better get a new filter. If not, try plugs and a good carb. cleanup.
