New guy from Arkansas with Kodiak question
#1
Hello everybody,my name is Paul and I have been reading the forums here for awhile and decided to join.I have noticed alot of good knowledgable people on here and was hoping you folks could answer a question. I have a 2000 Kodiak 4x4 and the transmission freewheels when going down hills sometimes. If I bring the idle up just a little, the engine braking works again.A little info about the quad:it has about 3500 miles on it with the original belt, has had water in it before(not a whole lot but some),and has been rolled once by my sister.I took it apart tonight and it has a bunch of black stuff everywhere on the pulleys, but the belt seems ok and tight.Could it be the sprag or a worn belt? The engine oil definitely needs changed too.Any inputs are appreciated.-Paul
