Default Need TechHelp for Artic Cat ATV

I am a new member and am having a problem with my Artic Cat 300 cc 4X4 ATV. It does not want to shift.
I noticed the oil light came on when I was plowing, so I added some oil, (Amsoil Synthetic)as my regular Artic Cat synthetic was not availiable.
I may have over filled it.
When I got the ATV home, I dumped the oil, and changed the filter. The filter was compressed when I replaced it. The bike will only move in 4 wheel low gear, and reverse.
Is there something I can do to correct this problem, or have I burnt the transmission.

Welcome and sorry to hear of your problem.

When you changed the oil, did you see any metal shavings? How hot did it seem to get when you were plowing? If there were no shavings and it was not excessively hot, I would not think you have burned up the tranny.

I agree with xcitmt, try going on an AC forum and see if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Good luck!!
