Newbie from Minnesota seeking help
#1
Hello guys,
I am seeking help for finding the right ATV for my Dad. Here's some background information.
He'll be using this ATV in a farm type of applciation as well as hunting. He wants to use it to pull a mower, and to also use a snow blower type attachment. He lives up on top of a ridge, so the snow drifts in the winter time can be HUGE.
Where he will be using this ATV will be in the bluff country of Tomah Wisconsin, so there will be a lot of going up and down hills, speed is not a huge need, torque is probably the biggest need. He wants to stay under $5,000 (the money he will be getting selling off his 8N tractor) It would be nice to get one that has reliable 4 wheel drive switching on the fly, but stand still 4 wheel drive switching operation is acceptable if that would be out of the price range. My dad is almost 60 years old if that has any bearing on your recommendations) He has a personal problem with the Brand Polaris (can't remember why exactly) so he says he won't buy a Polaris product.
I am trying to get some good used recommendations for him. I appreciate any help that you guys can offer. I understand that with any recommendations you have to know what the buyer really needs, so please forgive me if I have not listed enough needs, let me know what needs I have not outlined. Thanks guys!

welcome! i know the tomah area well (military). be sure to do your research. for $5k, you can get a very good bike. if he doesnt mind shifting, i would recommend a honda foreman, but looking through local ads, craigslist, and even going to a dealer and test-driving a few is a good idea. good luck!
