I'm new here and could use some help with a 2005 polaris sportsman 800 EFI, my first stupid question is how do you tell when it was built?

Welcome! All I can tell you it is a 05 or newer as that was the first year for EFI on a Polaris.

I'm trying to order new plastics, front and rear cabs and in trying to do this on some of the parts the site asks if it was built before or after like 7-28 of 04, so i wasn't sure how to order them.

Greetings! Seems to me that manufacturers start building quads for the next year in the mid-fall. My guess is that your quad was built sometime in late 04 or early to mid 05

Thanks for the replys Hemi and Kevin, I was just wondering if the way to tell is in the vin number on the frame... maybe?
