Artic Cat 500 auto starting problem

Artic Cat 500 auto starting problem
Despite cleaning the carb and replacing the plug, cold starting is almost impossible without starter fluid. Once it is warm, there is no problem. I'm thinking it might have to do with fuel needing to be really pumped a distance.
Any ideas?
