Well i just joined, ive never owned a atv and ive only drove one for alittle bit, i havent bought a four wheeler yet but ive been thinking about buying my friends yamaha 250 timberwolf 4x4 all the time for $1000, all it needs is a battery and tire and i got a quote for tires for $325, so what do you all think should i buy it, i think it would be a good first fourwheeler

If you know enough mechanically to say the rest of the quad is in good shape it might be a good starter. I'm not sure if $1000 for a quad that is over 10 years old is good or not. What year is it? If it is a 2000 year model Kelley Blue Book says it's worth $1765 retail in excellent shape. That's out here in the Massachusetts area. Go to KBB.com and go down the bottom where there is a motorcycle and go from there.
