Hey guys new to the atv forums but not new to the forums in general, I'm over on the Chevy avalanche fan club. I signed up hear to get some info on my first real purchase, I hav a quad now it's a Chinese one(Tao Tao 250). It was not bad for small dirt trails but I recently found some hardcore trAils in my area that are way to intense for my current quad. I will be looking for some thing around 500 to 800 cc, I'm sure this sight will be helpfull to my future questions. As for now I will continue browsing, thanks, stu

Welcome to the site Stu! If your looking for an all around quad, I would recommend the 700 Grizzly, IMO. A friend of mine has an 08 and he uses it for some heavy work, towing logs he's cut, dragged stumps, pulled a york rake, etc. and when he's not using it for work, he takes her through some serious rugged terrain for play! And I mean SERIOUSLY RUGGED,lol. (But always makes sure to properly inspect and maintenance it so it's not trashed)....I believe it tops out somewhere around 65-70mph. My father owns an 02 660 Grizzly which is also a pretty nasty monster, I dont think the years really make to much of a difference (besides being carbed and one EFI and PS ) when dealing with reliabilty and toughness of these machines. I hope this helps you out a little on deciding,...Mike

I think I am looking for a utility quad, it won't be doing much work. I have a tractor for that. I just want something to get through some really hard core trails. For these trails I probly will need some 27" swampers, o man I love playing in the mud!!!!!
