Default I'm new, and all that jazz...

But I'm not new to forum posting on the internet.

I like to ride the smaller bikes, I seem to have a keen preference for Yamaha Badgers and Raptors. At an early age I was immersed into the weekend world of motorcycle riding/camping and did this frequently until the age of 7 when my parents divorced and I got stuck with my mom. I've rode few times since then, most of which was when I was just a kid. I am 23 now.

I found this site in a Google search; I foolishly bought a Procom CDI off of ebay.com before doing any research. What I found was apparently the Procom CDIs are not favored among the guys who ride the bigger machines that rely on computers for important engine functions like timing. My bike appears to be all clockwork and the ignition box just reads the clockwork and tells the plug when to spark, giving life to my internal combustion so I should be fine *crosses fingers and waits until it shows up*

If you wanna chat I'll be posting in Yamaha Badger/Raptor threads or you can PM me. Till then, toodles!

Default I got the Blues........

Quite literally I got the blues. The new CDI arrived today, it was a welcome sight to see after I got back from the ER with my daughter. I quickly handed the child off to Mommy and sequestered myself in my Mancave.

Anticipation holding my body at an uneasy tension, I ripped the packaging open. The first thing I saw, was the size of the CDI, and it was huge. It was the same size of CDI that my 06 Yamaha Raptor had. After I carefully extracted the whole piece from the packaging, to my dismay I learned it was a 4plug connector and not a 3plug. I examined the wires going in, thinking I could backyard it into working. I got all the wires paired up, except the one extra. The Blue Wire.

I quickly fired up my garage computer and signed into Ebay to see about doing something. I pulled the page up and checked the title. Sure enough, the title said it was for a Badger 80. I looked over the whole page, and after all the usual meat of the page it says that its for a '92-'01 Badgers and that the item pictured isn't always going to be the exact item sold. Man do I have the blues...

Good thing is, they have sold over 12,000 items and have a 98% positive feedback rating.... so signs are pointing to yes that they will be easy to work with and come to a mutually happy resolution.
