Default New Guy with a Yam Moto 4

Hello all, I've got an 86 Moto 4 that's been sitting for over a decade I'm trying to rehab. I'm a car guy but not too experienced with ATVs so I'll be asking a bunch of questions shortly I'm sure. Right now I've got the carb off for a cleaning and i've drained the old gas. Once I get the carb apart and soaking I'll start on the oil change. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

How bad is it? I've got an '88 that's still in good running condition. Does the motor turn over?

You know, I have not checked that; I'm assuming it does. We used to ride it quite a bit when I was a kid then it began starting hard and then got ridden less. It's been sitting in the garage without running since the early 2000's.
Now, my wife and I have purchased my grandparents farmhouse and I've got a 4 year old that would love to ride along with dad and explore the property!
I stripped the carb down and soaked it in lacquer thinner then chased all the passages with a strand of copper wire, got it back together now. I'll try and get out tonight and do an oil change. I think I'm going to pull the front wheels and clean and pack the wheel bearings. I'll try and snap a picture when I'm in the garage tonight.

Hope you get it up and running. Buddy of mine had one of those and it got almost everywhere we could get with a 4wd.

My second moto4 350 was a 4wd. I think Moto -4 covers a wide range since my first on was a 250 2wd and my friend had a 225 moto4.

Mine is only two wheel drive. I'm not sure on the engine size though. I've got the vin, which are the engine digits and is there a chart handy?
Also, I finished the carb clean out and did the oil change last night. I had very little fresh gas on hand so I dumped it in and it will idle with the choke pulled. I need to adjust the carb but I'll wait until I've got a new battery so I don't have to pull start it every time it stalls out!
Also, how do I post pictures from the app? I've got a pic I want to share but I can't figure out how to.

Here's a pic as she sits now. When I get a little time I'll give her a bath and pop the seat back on then see how she runs!
