Live in South West Montana still consider myself a newbie to ATV riding been riding for a couple of years. Started with a Kawasaki Prairie 400. Was a great machine, 1998 only had 284 miles on it. The only problem was it was full time 4 wheel drive and it was a little tough for my wife to steer, and.....the engine braking wasn't as tight as I had hoped for so a lot of brake use. Cleaned it up really well, painted wheels and sold it for $1000 more than I paid for it. Bought a 2013 Honda Rancher and found it to be a very solid machine. Then came across a 2008 Grizzly automatic with only 258 miles on it. It had some carburetor issues so I put a new kit in it and an new petcock solved the problem, My wife liked the Honda better so sold that one for $500 more than I paid for it and bought another Rancher. Didn't fare so well on this deal even though I picked it up for $3300 I ended up having to have the top end rebuilt so $700 later I ended up with a great running machine. Went through both Ranchers cleaned them up repainted wheels, frames, rear ends, anything I could mask off, then applied graphic kits. It cleaned them up nicely we now have two great machines and enjoy them a lot. Would love to see pics from where everyone rides, we have barely scratched the surface of the trails in our area and are blown away by the scenery we are so spoiled with. Looking forward to visiting here often. FF

Thanks everyone, Yes it is truly Big Sky country, we are very fortunate, the sad thing is it has taken me so long to realize how blessed we really are. Lived here my entire life and have never been to most of these places, always too busy or something else to do, probably going to be empty nesters in a couple of years so trying to find some things to do with my wife that we both enjoy. We've picked up two types of riding in the last year and a half, ATV's and Tandem bicycling, we get to enjoy God's country either way.
Kymco, thanks, I can tell you they didn't look like this when I to them I spent a lot of hours taking them apart and cleaning and repainting parts and pieces. Now I just make sure I clean them up really well each time we take them out. No matter how dirty a good hand washing and drying each time, unfortunately our riding season is not nearly long enough. Trails open June 16 and close down Oct 16. Too high of altitude, snow stays til June and comes again in October. So we try to Ride as much as possible during that 4 months and take advantage of it.
Would love to see some pics from everyone else as to where they ride, Kymco, as long as you're able to get out is all that matters. Send the pics anyway. FF

Here are my pics from this past riding season. If you look in more threads I have many more pics with my old machine (2000 quadrunner 250). I also have an ice fishing thread in the fishing part of the forum.
