Default Howdy from Newfoundland

Hey folks. I was just researching an old quad I just purchased and I found this site. Figured I'd sign up.

It's been a long time since I've owned an ATV. My old bike was an 1986 Honda 200s 3-wheeler. I loved that little thing. Lots of fun.

I recently purchased a 1988 yamaha moto 4 225 as a restore project. It's actually in great shape with only minor issues to fix. I'm sure I'll be racking a few brains around here for info and advice when I restore the bike. I've attached an image of the bike as it is now.

I'll keep you updated as I restore it.

Hello Doc, and welcome!! What part of Newfoundland are you from? I'm on the east coast.

The Moto 4 is as tough as nails. It might ride a bit rough but it can take a hell of a beating. I believe you have Hi/Low range? It's a good work horse with low range, and plenty of fun on the trails in high. You might want to stay at stock tire size though. I wouldn't go above stock with 225 cc. Keep us posted on your restoration!!

I'm living in st. Johns for the time being but im about to make the move around the bay soon. Looking forward to getting away from the big city.

The bike does indeed have high/low range. I haven't driven it yet at the are some minor issues I need to take care of first but it runs. In fact it starts on the first pull.

Which bay? I'm from Placentia Bay. Living in Paradise. Would much rather be around the bay though.
