1986 bayou 300 carburetor
#1
Hi I need help I'm having carburetor issues I couldn't get my bayou to start and run so I bought a carburetor and installed it but it started pouring fuel out of the bowl drain without stopping until I turned the fuel off I noticed the fuel line was attached to the top inlet but on the old one it was attached to the bottom one. If I attach it to the bottom one it won't run but if I attach it to the top one it runs but pours fuel does anyone know what's going on with it?

Think you have the fuel going to the atmospheric vent on top. This should just be an open air vent tube or either a vacuum line going to a fuel pump if so equipped. The bottom nipple should be the fuel inlet. Take the carb bowl off and see if trash is stopping fuel from entering though the needle and seat or the float is stuck. If this is one of those aftermarket Chinese carbs,a lot of people have had to take them apart and blow out all the openings and jets. P.S. Welcome to the forums..

Thank you for the information it is a after market one I figured it wouldn't hurt the wallet to try one.i was wondering why they had the fuel line attached to the top inlet. I'll let you know if it works when I get a chance to look at it it may be Tuesday that's when I'm off next.
