I'm impressed you grew up on a wheat farm. It is a great way to learn how things really work in life, both the risks and rewards. You are used to getting dirty, fixing the combine when it breaks down, and enjoying the great outdoors.

You will get your quad running, and then work some overtime to get it paid for. And you will enjoy getting away and relaxing on some beautiful trail somewhere. My friends told me NEVER to ride alone. Flip overs and breakdowns are the reasons why. You need a buddy to get you back home. But you knew that.

Hey man. I guess it depends on what type of trails your riding but when you do trail riding you want a solid lower end. Of course, there will always be a down tree, mud puddles, or something like that. If you have a quad with a low top end, you can just go slowly around the obstacle. However, a hight top end wouldn't be able to go very slow and would just plow over/through with is very hard on both the rider and on the machine.

Hope I was able to help.

But yes, when your riding on a track/dunes/ any other wide open place higher top end is bettor. Thats why a lot of people (myself included) likes raptors. They have low end for trails but still have a lot of power.
