Talking New Guy On The Block

HI, I love fast toys. Have a few, and am always looking for tips on fixing things myself.
I am here and interested in hearing your input.
I just bought a used go kart Tao Tao 110cc, that needs a little work for the kids (so I say!)
I have a 1997 SeaDoo GSX waverunner, and use a Polaris 550.
I tool around on cars and small engines from mowers to wash machines. I would rather fix it than buy new or pay for it to get fixed.
3 vehicles have over 120K-180K miles running fine.
Great to be here!

Hi 69badboy: Welcome to the ATV Connection. Your introduction sounds perfect for these Forums. Many, many participants here enjoy keeping their machines running great, and enjoy doing it themselves, but have a question now and then.

I too am a "motor head". I remember when the go kart craze started in California in the late 50s and spread across the country. I spent my summer earnings on a 1961 go kart with two West Bend 700s pushing it. I tried racing but was no good at it. Then I got interested in sports cars, English MGs and the like. Just a bigger go kart. Not fast, but fun and fun to work on. My last sports car was a Honda S2000, also not fast but quite fun to drive. I had it for 12 years.

Now I joined the ATV hobby. We moved to Colorado a couple of years ago, and my new found friends are long time ATV enthusiasts. So I sold the S2000 and purchased a new Can Am Outlander Max with the 1000cc V twin. It is too fast for me! But it has enough power to haul me up these steep rocky trails at 11,000 feet we have out here. I service my machine myself, but not too sure I can tackle the valve adjustment. Not much room to work.

Jump right in and read all about your ATV.
