That is several Qs, but first: for an off-road 4-wheeler (ATV or UTV/dune buggy), do you want 2WD or 4x4? And if 2WD, don't you want a locked rear final drive?

You can't convert a locked final drive to differential, LSD or not. No space for the spider gears you would need to add. You need to replace it.

Essentially no ATVs have rear differentials at all, but essentially all of the 4x4 ATVs have LSDs in the front. You could use a front LSD in the rear for your project, I suppose. In that case, find a wrecked ATV or junkyard donor.

making a 4x4, in that case would you know what atv models would have an LSD, preferably for models with less than 500cc engines (trying to save weight)? Ive been looking online and I have a notion that Honda foreman 400/450s are LSDs, but I may be wrong. I even looked at this link (https://fwi-wp-assets-live.s3-eu-wes...-Ult-Guide.pdf) but it tells me nothing about earlier year models, which are the ones I am looking at (2002-2009 as they are almost always used on eBay).
