2008 Sportsman 800 Touring clicking in reverse
#1
Good Day,
2008 Sportman 800 Touring with 6000+ kms on it,
I am experiencing a loud clicking in reverse (2wd) and under a minor amount of load / backing up an incline.
Tried this as well, put some sandbags behind the front tires (to simulate some load on the machine) and put it in reverse, tried backing up and same effect. (I could see where the axle goes into the rear diff completely stopped moving as well.)
I then put a jackstand under the rear passenger tire so it just would spin freely, put in reverse and loud clicking could be head as driver rear attempted traction.
Then did the opposite, driver side with the jackstand, and no clicking could be heard but as well the machine didn"t attempt to move.
Any clues whats happening?
I'm thinking something in the reverse gear shaft in the transmission. (This unit has the combination transmission - rear gearcase)
Thank you
