Hey there, first time Polaris owner, I bought a really beat up 98 Xplorer 400 that definitely needs a few cans of elbow grease. In my internet travels I've noticed the Sportsman, Xplorer, Expedition, Xhibit A and everything in between seems to share a great deal of parts for almost a decade, regardless of the the size of the heart beating inside. I'm seeking the help of a guru who can outline the differences between parts used between the "classes" during the 95-200(2?) period. I.E. can a shifter (or rods) from a 300cc sportsman fit into a 98 Xplorer 400? This is just an example question, I know this is a big ask when you consider just how many of these parts are swappable, but busted Polaris ATVs are a dime a dozen and I need guidance on where to start to find parts. An IPL, User Manual and Service/Shop Manual would also be appreciated and the thanks will be written on my tombstone.
