Hey guys,
Went drag racing this past Sat. night on a 1/8th. mile track. This is the first time with 750 bore kit. Last year I ran 47 to 48 MPH with my 650 (pipe, jets, airfliter, red and black clutch springs) this year 60 to 61 MPH.
Thats a huge gain! Way to go Four Stroke Tech! There were alot of people impressed with the torque and speed of my machine, especially for a 4x4!
I raced a DS650 (flat tracks and lowered suspension) and a Raptor (WB pipe, jets, airfilter, flat tracks and lowered suspension). In practice I beat both machines by a couple of bikes but when it came to race time I blew it. The first time I wheelied (had to let off) and the second time I spun the tires about 20 feet. I was gaining on both machines but ran out of room at the end.
There was an oval track race that night somewhere else, usually there are 6 to 8 in my class(700cc-unlimited) I was hoping to race a V-force, where ever you are?
The next time I can heat up my tires, I took it easy this time because I have a bad head gasket that pushes air into coolant system which pushes coolant out of the system.
I need to pratice starts! It is hard to get the right weight balance, either I am back to far or forward to far. I am getting a trailer hitch so I can botom out rear shock with rachet strap, to stiffen up rear end, and hopefully to keep front end down and better traction.
If there is anybody with ideas and thoughts please let me know! Maybe some clutching would help? Hopefully someone this year makes a CDI so I can put it to the test!
There are some new pictures on my page of my machine at the strip if anybody wants to see.
Well now its time to tear off my heads and see whats up. (FUN, FUN, FUN)

That is a very impressive gain!! Just out of curiosity have you ever tried a run in 4wd, just thinking that would help your launch and keep the front end down a little. Also the holeshot module or the brooks module sounds like it would be right up your alley. Keep the dirty side down Good luck

Where did you purchase your kit? Im still waiting for there site to go up, they said March. What is the compression with the 750 kit?
thanks

Motocross bikes run a mechanism on the front forks that takes the "droop" out of the front suspension at the starting gate. When they drop the clutch and the front end starts to lift, the forks are locked up and keeps the suspension from extending. This puts the full weight of the front wheel/tire assembly to work helping to keep the front end down. You could put limiter straps on your front suspension when drag racing, it might accomplish the same thing.

Running the rear shock strapped down will make it wheelie worse. The "squat" you get from the suspension when you hit the throttle helps get the power down w/o lifting the front end. I saw a guy running at the drag strip this last weekend and that is what he did. He had a tie down pulling his front end down into a compressed position. Said that it helps keep the front end down.

Wildwill,
That is a good run 60-61 in 350ft very impressive. I to find that with excessive torque on bottom end the bike wants to lift the back end and the front end also. I had to install a wire cable from the swing arm to the frame this helps immensly as you can adjust the cable there by putting more force on your front shocks. I am afraid though you need some more of a hole shot to beet the 700 in 350ft. I find with my system I can just outrun a 700 by 1 1/2 lengths in 300ft. With good traction on clay or ashfault I am in maximum rpm and speed in 150ft. You are doing very well you will have to strengthen your rear axle housing and be careful of your front shafts with that much power. The more you modd be expecting to modd something else as it is directly proportional.

AJ650,
I had Four stroke tech (814-842-6159) set me up with everything, except the boring and sleeve install. Then I put it together myself with help from shop manual and dealer mechanic tips.
Its not to bad if you like to play mechanic on the weekends, but it usually ends up at any given free time. ( many late nights !! )

cueball89,
Four stroke tech (814-842-6159) did my work, Mickey Dunlap is who you need to talk too.
He will not be doing anything to his web page, he is way to busy with many other things!
The pistons are 11 to 1. I run half cam 2 and 94 in it.
