What are the bigest tires I can fit on my 650 Prairie Stock Wheels ?
#2
We have 2 bikes with 27/9/12 fronts and 27/11/12 rears mounted on stock rims with no problems. I can't even see 28/12/12 being a problem except for clearance on the tank guard. It depends on tire manufacturer and design though and I seem to remember a post regarding this where someone mentioned a tire (vampires, I think) that had clearence issues. Maybe do a forum search on tires and see what comes up.

Just an afterthought. Your thread title mentions 650 prairie but you state the year as 2001. 2002 was the first year for the 650. Is it actually an '02 650 or are we talking about an older bike.

I have a set of 27" Dirt Devils .... they rub the tank guard sometimes.
I would not buy larger tires if I was doing it again .... they negativly effected
performance too much.
