Default v-force and raptor

I read on here earlier that a raptor beats a v-force in a drag race and then I read a v-force smoked a raptor. I was just wondering which one does win a drag race say in 100 yards 200 yards and just plain top end. I'm just curious I can't afford either one of these quads but if I was getting one it was going to be the v-force 700.

The V gets it outta the hole and keeps pulling, but the raptor has a lil more top end, it starts pulling on the V in 5th. There have been alot of posts about this and fights, but our local dealer raced them both on a road for about 300 yards, got video of it, in 300 yards the v beat it by a bike and a half. And the raptor was piped......

Too many variable to really tell. Depends mainly on rider skill and size. I've beat some modded Banshee's that I shouldn't have with my stock Raptor but this was due to rider error. Buy which ever one suits your riding style. I'm looking to get a V-Force as soon as I sell the Cobra.

I just built my own single exhaust system for my 700. Couldnt find big enough jets so i had to tape up my airbox holes and put the stock filter back in. Took her to a local track to try her out. I think the jetting is a hair on the lean side yet. There were five raptors there. 2 were stock, 2 had pipe, filter no lid and one had a good 686 kit in it ported and the hole works. I figured i would beat the stock raptors and hold pretty good with the piped ones and probably get beat by the 686. To my suprise in the first 30 feet the stock raptors and piped raptors were gone way behind with the 686 right beside me to about 40-50ft then i started to pull away. Beating the 686 by 4-5 quad lengths in a 5-600ft stretch. We tried this numerous times and the out come was usually similar. All the guys on the Raptors were good riders 2 even better than I. All under 200lbs. Me 240lbs. I have some clutch springs i have to put in yet and hopefully it will go even better. Plus get bigger jets so i can put back in my air filter and open the air box holes back up.

Default v-force and raptor

This weekend I raced a Raptor with a Pipe, jets, and K&N filter and the rider claimed to be riding for a long time(whatever that means) and on Comp Hill he pulled ahead of me slightly. My front tire was right next to his foot pegs every time we raced and we went at it for a while. My V is stock except for paddles. I was nose to nose on the same hill with What I thought was a Suzuki LT 250. The problem with the v-force racing is that you can not get the RPM's up before the hole shot, which is fine cuz there is no tire spin, but it is easy for someone with a clutch to get the jump on you. Just my assesment.

A simple change of the primary spring to a stiffer spring will let the motor rev higher on takeoff and will give you more RPM's throughout the power range.
