'03 650 Prairie won't start

Just my 2 cents ,
It appears you have verified that fuel is getting to the carbs. I would first find out if you are getting good spark. You need to see a nice bright blue spark when cranking. You can rig up a spark plug tester or have a buddy hold it close to a good ground while cranking. If the spark is weak, you have electrical issues. Maybe a coil or just a short. LIke others have said, you need three basic things: fuel, spark and air.
Start with the easy stuff first before you start taking things apart.
Good Luck

Well I checked the mains and they aren't plugged. The floats were freely moving. I have good spark. Nice blue arc.
However, it seems like I am not getting fuel to the cylinders. The plugs are dry.
Now what??

I think your 1st post may hold the key to your problem. I have read all of the responses & the only thing I haven't seen is the choke cable. I noticed you said you checked the choke springs, did you also check the cable itself, all the way from the handlebar, the cable routing to the carbs. You may want to remove the housing from the handlebar to check & see the cable.
My 650 will not start in 70 degree weather unless I give it Full choke (with the engine cold).
Believe it or not but for some reason, all of my 4wheelers will start easier with the hand rope starter vs the electric starter, as long as everything else is working correctly.

OK,
It's definetly a carb issue then. Try this....pull your airbox lid, and place your hand over the intake to the carbs.
Try to completely "plug" the intake....I realize you probably know what I'm saying, but you're manually choking it.
Then while covering the intake to the carbs, try to start it.
If it starts, you've got a good place to start looking (your choke), otherwise I feel you may have clogged pilot jets, etc. That's really all there is left.
I mean, if you're getting gas to the carbs from the gas tank, then it can't be anything (unless you have NO compression.......that would do it too, but you did state that it'll start if you spray gas down the carbs), so it's likely not that.

Well I give up.
I'm going to take it in. I'll let you know what it was.

Well now I am really ticked off.
I know someone stated to check it for water, well I didn't actually look into the tank. I smelled fuel so figured it was fine. The dealer called and said the inside of my tank looks like an aquarium and it's mostly water with lots of pine needles, leaves small twigs. I was trying to figure out how the heck that stuff got in there. I didn't think the kids could unscrew the gas tank cap and that they knew better. Well I was mostly right. My kids did not unscrew it and do know better, but my neighbor kids obviously don't and did unscrew it. From my wife asking our girls they said that the neighbor boy, he is 5 years old, unscrewed the gas cap. Then they dropped crap down into it, must have dumped water in it to. I was trying to figure out how the heck that stuff got in there and I guess now I know.
I tell you what, I am going to have a talk with his parents on this. They are really good neighbors and actually just moved to the other side of the lake. They must have done it when they were over for a party I had the last Saturday it ran.
So now I am going to the dealer tonight to get it and they are charging me $30 for the time they spent pulling the airbox and plastic off and checking it out. That's fine. I am just so ticked off right now at myself and the kid that I am ready to blow. Anyways, I have to pull the tank so I can get everything out of it and the dealer said it would take them around 4 hours but he wasn't sure and it's not a warranty item so I am going to do it. He said to be careful with the fuel pump since it is expensive. I am scared to even ask considering how much the rear shock costs. Guess I will have quite a bit of work on it. He said that the jets won't pass water so hopefully none got into the engine.
Moral of the story... Put a lock on everything and don't assume.
