Just got my new V force delivered today and took it for a break in ride. It is totally different then my DS, but one puzzling question. The fan kicked on and ran, but when I shut the motor down and took the key out the fan still ran. Is this normal???

It's perfectly normal, the engine may not be running but the heat is still there, it just helps cool it down faster. Congrats on the new ride, have fun and ride safe....

Yes, If it still hot it will run untill it gets the temp down.

If it doesnt shut of then you might have a bad temp sensor, Mine was bad it just keeped on running the fans even when dead cold.

 

Well that kinda sucks! How hard is that on the battery???

 

If it runs continually after the motor is cool you might have a problem, otherwise it will quit running when the motor is cool enough. I rode mine for a while tonight and after i shut it off(and took the key out of the ignition) the fan still kicked on a couple of times.

 

Thanks for the info, I just felt like that was really odd.

 

They do make some additives you can put in your radiator (can't remember the names right now) they will make your ride run a little cooler and the fan won't come on as much or so i've heard. do a search on the forum and you should find out more info..

 

Water wetter, purple ice, 40 below, DEI radiator relief, and there is another product I cant remember off hand that was the cheapest, It was at autozone, $5.86 for a 12 ounce bottle (more than you need).
Its not hard on your battery and good for your engine. The prairies do the same thing.
