I guess technically you don't need to have a speed sensor, but the CDI would need to have an input for a speed sensor signal. Which it doesn't have.

The Holeshot is not needed on the V-Force, it is like asking what is north of the North pole.

Keep in mind that the holeshot module is only good for about the first 30 feet from a dead stop and at WOT, after that there isnt much change. So if the V force wheelies easy and has problems staying on the ground at take off, It probably wouldnt help the V much since when you let off the throttle to let the front come down the effects of the module are gone. But the CDI or new ignition is a different story.

Just a thought guys/gals....if I am way off don't rip on me to bad...

Isn't our engine the same / or similar to the 1985-86 Kawasaki Vulcan road bike, if so I wonder if the cdi unit from this bike is not limited and may also have a diff timing curve and such,... or maybe how about something from the Ninja series of bikes....any thoughts on this??
Or is this one of those can't happen things"""?

It was supposedly developed from scratch for ATVs but thats never true, it could of been from an ancient street bike.

Hate to burst your bubble but the cdi's from other bikes will not work as there is a total different timeing curves and sensors that are routed to the cdi. If the new cdi were to be installed there would not be true information delivered to the cdi and the unit would not respond to its program. If it were a total independent unit like the Haltech that Shotgun talked about then there would be a chance. There are other companies that have this type of ignitions but are pricey not to mention difficult to install. Is anyone willing to rip out the old wiring harness and rebuild another one, this may be the only answer that is possible. We may have to go with one of these units sooner or later. It is not hard to find an ignition but one that is programmable that is the problem especially one that is priced low enough to justify the modifying of it. I would think a programmable ignition along with an EFI would be the total answer.

Shotgun, actually I have thought of that. I work with a guy that can speak Jap, I think Kawasaki has these made for them by a different company. Im sure they wouldnt be opposed to doing a little changing and selling. Or even if they still have some pre-prodution CDIs laying around . They wouldnt be breaking any patends if they are the original manufacturer.
